Minister met the Editor-in-chief of the Ekho Moskvy

Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini met Aleksey Venediktov, editor-in-chief of Ekho Moskvy – one of the most popular, independent and objective radio stations in the Russian Federation. The initiator of the meeting was the journalist himself, as he wanted to get first hand information on the ongoing reforms from Georgian officials.

According to Aleksey Venediktov, there is a lack of true and real information on the recent developments in Georgia in Russian Federation, as the people get information only from Russian governmental sources. Mr. Aleksey Venediktov is a member of the board of advisors at the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation. That is why he was especially interested in the current developments in the Georgian education system.

The Russian journalist got familiarized with many components of the Georgian education reforms including school leaving exams, national unified exams, the introduction of the school resource officers. He plans to inform the Russian citizens on these developments and introduce some of the reforms in to the Russian education system.

Minister Shashkini positively assessed the meeting with the Russian journalist - “The reforms undertaken in Georgia are interesting for many countries in the world,” highlighted the Minister.
