How will the increased prices on new mini buses affect your budget?

Monday, July 18
“To say the truth I am frustrated, I need two mini buses a day and I have to pay nearly GEL 3 in a day for my transportation. Our authorities are not ashamed at all, they are putting more and more pressure on us and one day, very soon, they will have to answer for this.”
Nana, Teacher, 35

“In general, I do not use public transport and this fact will not make any influence on my family’s income, however, to my mind it is a very unjust decision, as most Georgians live in hard economic conditions. This decision is especially unjust when communal fees were also increased lately.”
Temur, Bank Employee, 32

“I used this new mini bus yesterday and this is really very good. As a passenger I feel more comfort and safety. There is a big difference between the old and new ones.”
Giga, sportsman, 19

“It will have a significant impact on my family, as I have to use the mini bus and my little son also goes to school by this means of transport. When I heard about bringing new Marshrutkas in the country, it has also been mentioned that the fee will not be increased, however we are cheated one more time.”
Natia, Assistant, 34

“I use the metro for this reason and I have a student’s card as well, thus this decision will not make any difference to me. As far as I know, there would be some benefits for those who use mini buses regularly.”
Tamta, Student, 21

“I like this initiative that old mini buses should be replaced by new ones and this is really necessary because old ones are very uncomfortable. But the prices are not affordable especially for those who use this transport several times per day. When the prices go up the state is responsible to provide us jobs with adequate salaries. If we all have a good salary and job we will not be so angered by increasing prices.”
