Student Mobility in Georgia

Tuesday, August 2
Students who wish to move from one institute of higher learning to another in Georgia can change institutions from August 1 to August 31. The First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Koka Sepherteladze, briefed the press on the new policy on Student Mobility.

Interested students can apply for mobility on the web page of National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement www.eqe.ge. Those who enrolled in higher education institutions by passing the Unified National Exams and have already studied a minimum of one year can apply for mobility, choosing a higher education institution from the list on the web-page.

The maximum number of educational programs the student can apply to is five and students should have a minimal score for each educational program. The right to move to another higher education institution will be on a first-come first-serve basis. If the number of students who apply for mobility at a given institution exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected according to their results in the Unified National Exams/Graduate Record Exams.

Students studying at higher education institutions that have not been accredited since the 2005-2006 academic year will be able to apply for mobility only if they pass Unified National Exams. Mobility is announced twice a year and students can be registered on the mobility portal using their personal number.
