David Bakradze attended the opening of the new section of irrigation water pipe-line in Kvemo Nikozi

The problem of irrigation water which had plagued the population of 5 villages, damaged after the war in 2008, has been solved. The Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, David Bakradze, pushing the button, personally set in operation the seventh pump in Kvemo Nikozi, which supplies irrigation water from the river Liakhvi to the village and will irrigate about 3 000 hectares of land.

The problem of irrigation water in Zemo and Kvemo Nikozi, also Zemo Khvito and Kelktseula villages arose from 2007, and was aggravated after the war in 2008.

The Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, Ramaz Nikolaishvili, the representatives of EU, the Minister of Agriculture, Bakur Kvezereli, the plenipotentiary representative of the President to Shida Kartli, Zurab Arsoshvili also attended the works on the pump station.

After opening the water pump station, David Bakradze met with the local population and heard about their social problems. The Headmaster of Nikozi School asked the Chairman to allocate a special vehicle for school pupils. David Bakradze promised to solve this problem within one year. The population also asked Mr. Bakradze to assist in the construction of a new school.

The Chairman of the Parliament also visited the Mchedlidze family, damaged after the war, and who lost the family members in August 2008. David Bakradze made the comment concerning the 3rd anniversary of the August war.
