Friday, September 9
On September 7 a Georgian Wine Tasting took place in London's Vinopolis, organized by the Georgian National Investment Agency under the patronage of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and with support from the Georgian Embassy in London, the British-Georgian Chamber of Commerce and the Georgian Wine Association.

The Georgian National Investment Agency decided to launch its campaign in Vinopolis as this venue is a cosmopolitan centre of all wines on earth and where Georgia declares its status as Cradle of Wine. Vinopolis has not been visited by Georgian wine producers for the last several years and GNIA will use this opportunity to remind the representatives of the world's wine industry of the country’s wine export potential.

GNIA invited wine experts, opinion makers, UK beverage business representatives, government officials, UK beverage importers and traders, wholesalers and retail chain decision makers as well as local media to the event. The guests were welcomed by H.E. Giorgi Badridze, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia in the UK.

In addition to Georgian folk music and dance, one of the interesting events of the evening was a Prize Draw. Guests had the opportunity to draw prizes, including a Business Class Ticket to Tbilisi to attend Trade With Georgia 2011 Beverage Tradeshow in November, sponsored by Aerosvit Ukrainian Airlines in UK & Ireland. During the November event, leading Georgian beverage producers will showcase their export produce in a tradeshow. Companies and visiting delegates will explore business opportunities and share their views and experience at the high profile forum and fascinating gala dinner over a Georgian “Supra”. The Guest of Honour will be Ms. Perrotti-Brown, Singapore’s only Master of Wine, who covers the entire Asian region and writes for the world’s most renowned wine publication, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate.
