FlyDubai starts regular Tbilisi-Dubai flights

Monday, November 7
FlyDubai Airlines launched regular flights from Dubai to Tbilisi on November 5. The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and the management of the company held a joint press conference and was attended by the Chief of Georgian National Tourism Agency, Maia Sidamonidze and Head of the Transportation Department of the Civil Aviation Agency, Alexander Gachechiladze, representatives of UAE National Federal Council.

The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development addressed the audience and talked about the importance of expanding the market in different directions. As Vera Kobalia noted, Georgia is becoming more and more attractive for foreign airlines and the interest from an Arab airline to begin services is another example. The decision will increase passenger flow between Georgia and the United Arab Emirates and have a positive impact on trade and tourism cooperation between two countries.

The Minister noted that FlyDubai is distinguished for its low fares, thus making them available to average passengers. Flights are offered twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays and the basic fare is $270.

FlyDubai Airlines was founded in March, 2008 and is the first low-priced airlines in Dubai and the fastest expanding air company in the world. The company serves 46 destination airline route networks in the Commonwealth countries of the Persian Gulf, Middle East, North America, Indian Sub-Continent and peripheries of Asia and Europe. The low-priced Government-owned carrier supports the city's commercial and tourism sectors by serving all sorts of passengers and providing accessible air-markets.
