What do you think about accusations that Ivanishvili is ‘Russia’s project?’

Tuesday, November 15
“This is an illusion of our Government as they do everything to accuse Ivanishvili of Russian related activities. We all know that he has business in Russia and he has never hidden it, but it is not enough reason to blame him for it. People should learn how to respect a person who does a good, very good, job for our country.”
Neli, housewife, 43

“The only man we can consider as Putin’s guy is Saakashvili who gave our territory to our enemy for the sake of our dead soldiers. It is shameful what this government dares and speaks about concerning Ivanishvili. No clever person would have begun war against Russia and offer our villages as presents--now you can think who is Russia’s project!”
Shalva, student, 23

“I agree and tell you why. This person was always in the shadows and did many good things for Georgia and for some Georgians. However his appearance was very unexpected. I think the reason of his sudden entering into politics is Russia. Russia sees there is no pro-Russian force they can rely on. Burjanadze has frustrated their hopes and could not manage to overthrow Saakashvili’s government, so did Patarkatsishvili and many others. As people lost trust towards those politicians all of a sudden appeared Ivanishvili, why? I really do not believe that he needs a political headache.”
Teona, teacher, 27

“I have no idea whose project is whose. All we need is peace and stability. I will vote for him/her who will persuade me that they will give me such guarantee. I do not have anything against Saakashvili and I see very well how our country progresses in almost all fields, but I do not agree with him that Bidzina is a man sent from Russia. But who knows?”
Khatuna, hairdresser, 35

“Such statements that Ivanishvili is a Russian project or something like this are really funny and sometimes irritate me. The man has done a lot of good for the country for years and not just before elections like the current authorities behave. And also those newscasts and others, which are trying to stick him with a Russian label, are very low level and cause more irritation than agreement or support.”
Nana, Student, 21

“Well, currently it is difficult for me to be definite, I just say 50/50.”
Revaz, Bank Employee, 22

“I don’t think he is a Russian project--such projects are totally from the Georgian authorities with their anti-state and anti-social actions…”
