Armenian-Georgian motorway issues

Armenian PM Tigran Sarkisian thinks that the construction of the so-called South-North motorway connecting Armenia with the Georgian port of Batumi will make it possible for Armenian citizens to come to Batumi much faster, which will increase the number of tourists into Black Sea resorts. This project envisages modernizing the infrastructure of the road from the Iranian-Armenian border up to the Georgian border, the length of motorway will be 556 km. this project is financed by credit from the Asian Development Bank worth USD 500 mln. Approximately the same amount of money will be matched by the Armenian government.
