The reform which the ministry will implement thanks to the active cooperation with the National Communications Commission intends to promote competition and entrepreneurship development, investment attraction, job creation, economic, social and cultural development in this very important field,” Vera Kobalia noted.

The conference is part of the program “Georgia: Development of ICT Policy and Regulation” which is led by the EBRD, Government of Finland, Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, and National Commission of Communications.

The main objective of the program is the development of a policy package on ICT in Georgia which will provide medium and long-term development of modern ICT, development of entrepreneurship and attraction of investment, deep integration with global networks, formation of informational society and the country's comprehensive development.

The views and suggestions expressed by participants of the seminar will contribute to the creation of a complex project of ICT development policy which will be implemented in Georgia by the project's partners by the end of 2012.
