About investments in 2011

The final figures of FDI in Georgia are not yet available though PM Nika Gilauri hopes that the total will reach USD 1 billion for the whole of 2011. According to preliminary data, in the three quarters of 2011 around USD 640 million entered the country. So, as Gilauri optimistically suggests, in the fourth quarter around half of this amount should have entered the country.

Some economic analysts however challenge such optimism saying that it is unlikely that before the forthcoming elections any large amounts will be entering the country.
