As Executive Director of the Department of Statistics of Georgia stated recently, Georgia might face a problem of deflation rather than inflation. In the beginning of 2011 there was fear over inflation processes in Georgia which reached almost 14.5%, later however falling to 8.5%. The Georgian Government envisages keeping inflation in 2012 at around 6%. However the Statistical Department fears that Georgia could suffer from the process of decreasing prices which will damage entrepreneurs.
