Business leaders rumored to be on UNM list

Kvela Siakhle is reporting that the United National Movement (UNM) is planning to change their candidate list for the upcoming parliamentary elections. There are rumors that some popular businessmen will appear on the list, including the founder of pharmacy chain Aversi, Paata Kurtanidze, as well as Wissol President Soso Pkhakadze – who may be nominated as an MP from Kutaisi.

Vice Speaker Gigi Tsereteli says that such rumors are not unusual before elections, but he cannot confirm this information. “I can certainly say that it is too early to be talking about the election list now,” Tsereteli commented.



Ramishvili to host a new show

In an interview with Alia, Shalva Ramishvili confirmed the launch of a new commercial television project. The show will be a comedy, and he is currently scouting for talent. “It may be a good editor, or a good actor; we are open to everyone,” Ramishvili told Alia.

Ramishvili did not specify other details, besides confirming that the project will be produced in his own studio and then sold to interested broadcasters.



Deputy MES Minister speaks to school Resource Officers

At a seminar in Bakuriani, Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Giorgi Chakhnashvili, held a working meeting with 100 school Resource Officers from Tbilisi, 24 Hours reports. The Deputy Minister summarized the previous year's activities of the Office of Resource Officers and positively evaluated the resource officers' work.

During the meeting, Chakhnashvili spoke about current reforms of the education system and outlined a strategic plan for 2012. He also highlighted the importance of the Safe School Concept and talked about the role of Resource Officers in its implementation.

Currently, 1500 Resource Officers are working in schools throughout Georgia.
