Vera Kobalia Met with the Representatives Turkish Export Companies

Another Turkish factory launches textile production in Georgia. This decision became known at the meeting of Vera Kobalia with the representatives of Turkish exporter assembly. A Turkish businessman plans to visit Georgia in the nearest future. Dozens of new jobs will be created by launching the production.

Textile, tourism, construction, agriculture, energy and heavy industry- this is a short list of the sectors in which Turkish exporters had a great interest. The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia was answering their questions while being on a business trip to Turkey.

Turkey, which has one of the fastest growing economies in the world, is looking for the partners in neighboring counties for further investments. Georgia is a very attractive country from this point of view – the country is one of the best in the world in starting and developing business and has favorable trade agreements with the world's economically leading countries. The fact that Georgia has qualified labor force, simple tax system and low tariff on electricity is of great importance as well.

Last time, the representative group of Turkish businessmen was in Georgia is February, but as it is known a new business forum is planned to be held. Turkey, which is the first trade partner of Georgia and one of the biggest investors, is creating thousands of new jobs via its companies. The joint ventures of Georgian-Turkish companies are increasing Georgian export production, which is successfully sold in Turkey. As the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Vera Kobalia stated, the aims of Georgian Government is not only the deployment of companies to Turkey but promotion and development of already existing companies.

Besides the businessmen, bilateral Governmental Commissions also discuss the trade - economic relations. The agenda is currently in process of establishment. Vera Kobalia discussed the most important issues together with her Turkish colleague Zafer Caglayan. Economic partnership was positively evaluated and future orientations were revealed at the meeting.

Both Ministers made a report to the members of Turkish-Georgian business-council after the bilateral meeting. They talked about the investment possibilities of Georgia.
