Negative migration balance for Armenia in the beginning of 2012

In January – March of this year 144 000 people entered Armenia through its airports in Yerevan and Gumri, and more than 172 000 left the country.

These figures show a negative migration pattern for Armenia by more than 26 000 people.

Armenia's Civil Aviation Department says the negative balance for this period has increased compared to the same period last year by around 24 000 people, meaning the number of people leaving Armenia in 2012 has been increasing. Besides air routes, people have been leaving Armenia and going via Georgia to Russia by bus.
