Next July, winners from around the world will compete at the Imagine Cup 2012 Worldwide Finals, where the winning team will receive a cash prize of $25 000 USD.

The participating Georgian teams also received prizes from Algorithm, a Georgian high technology company.

The Microsoft "Imagine Cup" is the world’s premier student technology competition. This year, Georgia was invited to join the contest.

In 2012, the competition addressed the following theme: Imagine a world where technology helps solve the toughest problems.

Students over the age of 16 were eligible to participate in the competition. The contest was arranged with support of the Ministry of Education and Science and USAID. Organizers included Microsoft Georgia and EMIS. The competition is supported in part by USAID’s Economic Prosperity Initiative, Singular Group, and Algorithm.
