Bakradze visits Oni

Tuesday, May 8
The Speaker of Parliament is continuing his tour of the country, meetings with residents of the rural regions. Davit Bakradze visited Oni on Saturday, met with residents of the village Sori, and spoke about the social and infrastructure projects planned by the government for 2012.

The spring plowing works have already begun in Oni. As locals note, vouchers for agricultural equipment simplified their work. "Using vouchers and tractors, the population held agricultural works at low price. Our task is to assist the village, the farmers to cultivate their lands, have yields, gain more income and employ more people. Thus, we help the village to improve their economic situation,” Bakradze stated. Gas works have already begun in the region and the village will have a gas supply by the end of the year. Rehabilitation of the water system and reservoir is also underway

Bakradze also said that a barite mine will be opened in two months, employing 200 people.

The Speaker was interested in the problems of local residents. They emphasized access to healthcare, employment, external light, gas, and stadium arrangements. Bakradze promised to solve their problems.
