US Embassy sponsors Tbilisi International Student Film Festival

On May 7, the sixth annual Tbilisi International Student Film Festival kicked off at Tbilisi’s Film and Theatre University.

The six-day festival is organized largely by students from the university and is intended to introduce Georgian and foreign students’ films to a broader audience. Representatives of more than 20 countries will take part in the festival.

The US Embassy is one of twenty official sponsors. It sponsored the return visit to Georgia of American film producer Jim Stark, who will be one of the judges of the student film competition. Stark will also screen and lead discussions on a number of his films, as well as conduct a workshop for students. The festival will include a number of master class workshops, presentations and screenings.
