Georgian leaders continue to underscore the importance of tourism in Georgia and have reiterated how it is one of the country’s top priorities. However, tourism development so far has been signified only by the number of people who cross Georgia’s borders. Currently, the country is facilitating the development of luxurious five-star hotels. Unfortunately, considerably less attention is paid to the development of small, cheap Bed and Breakfast accommodations. Analysts suggest that there are only a couple dozen three-star hotels in Georgia. Observations suggests that more than half of the world’s tourists prefer staying at cheap hotels. Authorities have promised that steps will be taken to improve this situation.
