Private Sector Support Program

The Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, Ramaz Nikolaishvili, Director of the Municipal Development Fund, Levan Chichinadze and the World Bank's representative Akhmed Eiveida, met with businessmen operating in Georgia, at the Tbilisi Marriott hotel.

During the event, the Private Sector Support Program was discussed in detail, which is implemented in the framework of the Kakheti regional development project, and for which the World Bank and the government of Georgia has loaned $12.5 million. The project includes the development of related infrastructure (road infrastructure, water supply, sanitation, a constant supply of power, natural gas transfer, and communication infrastructure). The goal of the project is the development of the tourism and agriculture sector in the region.

The presentation of the projects and programs planned in the framework of the regional development project of Kakheti were presented at the event.

Meeting with Delegation of Saudi Arabia

The Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, Ramaz Nikolaishvili, met with the parliamentary delegation of Saudi Arabia, which visited Georgia on an official visit.

The aim of the meeting was the enhancement of cooperation and business relations between Georgia and Saudi Arabia. Ramaz Nikolaishvili presented the guests the ongoing infrastructure projects in the region and briefed them on the current business environment. As was noted at the meeting, Georgia is the leading country in the Caucasian region in terms of doing business because of the simplicity of tax system and loyalty that helps to attract investment.

The parliamentary delegation of Saudi Arabia will be in Georgia on a week-long visit. During the visit, members of parliament will meet with government representatives and with their Georgian colleagues.
