Burjanadze: Cemetery under threat in Abkhazia

The Red Cross has confirmed information reported by Democratic Movement-United Georgia leader Nino Burjanadze that residential buildings are under construction in Sokhumi on the grounds of a cemetery, which may cause the total destruction of the graves, Rezonansi writes.

According to the Medianews news agency, the Democratic Movement has called on all Abkhaz residents to protest the construction.

Price of bread may increase

The price of importing wheat into Georgia has increased in Georgia. At the beginning of the year, Russian and Kazakh wheat cost $220-230 USD per tonne; today the price is $280-300, according to Executive Director of the Grain Association, Levan Silagadze.

If this trend continues, the price of bread may rise. A bag of flour is currently 33 GEL, but may increase to 35-37 GEL, impacting the price.

Thanks to drought in exporting countries, the price of wheat has been increasing steadily, by 18% this year alone.
