Professional Education for Female Inmates

The Minister of Corrections and Legal Assistance of Georgia (MCLA) – Khatuna Kalmakhelidze, and Deputy Chairperson Rusudan Kervalishvili, congratulated inmates at the women’s Penitentiary Establishment #5, for their successful completion of Art Flora-Design course, which concerns making different compositions from plants.

In addition to Art Flora-Design, inmates can learn foreign languages and enrol in various psycho-rehabilitation programs.

Professional Education has been funded within the framework of the project, which is organized with the support of the Civil Awareness Development Center and aims at providing employment opportunities to women after their release.

The modern library that is operational at the Penitentiary Establishment #5 for Women, is supplied with special equipment and books published in Georgian and foreign languages, historical and other genres of literature.
