Prime Minister and Healthcare minister visited Tetritskaro

The Prime Minister of Georgia Ivane Merabishvili and the Minister of Labour, Health and Social Affairs Zurab Tchiaberashvili, visited the Bekauri family in the Tetritskaro district and handed insurance policies to 4-year-old George and 3-year-old Tamari. The eldest member of the family, Givi Bekauri and his wife Tamara received their own health insurance policy a few days earlier along with their pension in a local branch of Liberty Bank. They will be able to use their policies beginning September 1 of 2012.

The Prime Minister and the Minister of Health informed the members of the family about the usage and services of the insurance policy. While talking to the members of the family the minister emphasized the importance of health insurance. From July 15, 2012, the Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Affairs began the distribution of the state-issued health insurance policies. Besides the children from 0- including-5 years and pension aged population, the state insurance will also be administered to students and children with disabilities less than 18 years beginning September 1.

Later, the head of the government and the Minister of Health visited Geo Hospital Medical Center in Tetritskaro and met with hospital staff. While speaking with the hospital employees, the Prime Minister became interested about the payment of the medical personnel.

The 15 bed clinic is equipped with modern medical equipment, and employs 116 people. These include 32 doctors and 46 nurses. For the construction of the clinic, the Insurance Company IRAO has made investment of GEL 2.5 million. The clinic began functioning in December of 2011. After opening the medical Center 2,258 patients have been received.
