Who left Georgia during 2008 war?

A few days ago a list was released on Facebook where the names are written of the officials who left Georgia during 2008 war, Kviris Palitra writes.

According to the list, Gigi Tsereteli, Vice Chairman of the Parliament left Georgia on August 7 and returned on August 9. Koba Nakopia, businessman and MP from ruling party left Georgia on August 7 and has not returned.

Alexander Khetaguri, the Minister of Energy left Georgia on August 8; Deputy Finance Minister, Dimitri Ghvindadze left Georgia on August 8 and returned on August 10; Deputy Foreign Minister Giga Bokeria left the country on August 9, second deputy Foreign Minister Nino Kalandadze left Georgia on August 10 crossing the Georgian-Azeri border via Red Bridge. There are number of other officials whose names have occurred in the list.



Driver died as a result of an accident at Rikoti pass

The driver of a trailer carrying liquid gas died in a road accident, which occurred at the Rikoti pass Sunday night, Rezonansi reports. The Emergency Management Department reported that the accident occurred late night at Rikoti pass. The truck crashed into a tree on the slope. According to preliminary data, the driver lost control, and the truck overturned and caught fire. The driver died as a result of the accident. The truck was owned by an Iranian company. The driver was also an Iranian citizen. Movement on this section of the highway was blocked for several hours. Special Services worked to extinguish the fire through the morning. The fire was extinguished by nine fire brigades from Kutaisi, Zestafoni and Kharagauli.
