The opposition Georgian Dream named its majoritarian candidates for the Adjara Autonomous Republic on August 16.

The candidates are: Amiran Mamuladze( Mathematician) in Khulo, Jemal Putkaradze( Doctor) in Shuakhevi, Nodar Dzneladze(Agronomist) in Keda, Temur Kakhidze(Sportsman) in Khelvachauri, Anzor Tkhilaishvili(Economist) in Kobuleti and Akaki Dzneladze( Painter) in Batumi.

Ivanishvili provided a detailed description of the biography of each of the candidates, called them educated and worthy people who are able to win in all Adjara region districts.

Alongside the majoritarian candidates, Ivanishvili was asked concerning Irakli Alasania, the coalition majoritarian candidate in Zugdidi.

Ivanishvili was asked whether it is possible to see Alasania as a presidential candidate for the Coalition Georgian Dream.

“Alasania is a very experienced politician. He is known in America. He is a very principled and interesting person. Accordingly, I can state with pleasure that we can see Alasania on one of the highest posts. It is difficult to state currently who will be assigned to future posts. However, he has serious potential to take a high post,” Ivanishvili stated.

To Ivanishvili, the President of Georgia is also sure that the National Movement will be the most successful political party. The representatives of the ruling team are also sure that their majoritarian candidates have the highest chances in all the regions.

Regarding Irakli Alasania, political analyst Malkhaz Chemia agrees with Ivanishvili and underscores that Alasania is really a balanced politician who has the ability to play a positive role in Georgian-Abkhazian relations as well, due to his ties to the region.
