President Mikheil Saakashvili and Tbilisi Mayor Gigi Ugulava visited the newly opened tunnel under Ikalto hill and the newly organized transport hubs via tourist bus. On the way, the Mayor of Tbilisi familiarized the President of Georgia with several ongoing and finished projects. According to Saakashvili, Tbilisi is becoming a modern city day-by-day with new bridges, resting parks, and modern buildings. He also added that unlike during the Soviet period, every condition is created for the population to travel comfortably.

Later, Saakashvili and Ugulava visited a low cost marketplace on Kostava Street which was organized on the initiative of City Hall. Saakashvili met with the population and expressed interest in their opinion. The President also noted that it is important to bring agricultural products from Kakheti to these regions so that the region that was damaged by the disaster is assisted in this way as well.

Saakashvili also visited Zaabruken Square, where the rehabilitation of 10 houses, the square walkway, and a public space has been finished.

The reconstruction process began in spring 2012. The basement and exterior of the 10 houses was strengthened and the sewage and pipeline systems fully replaced around Zaarbruken Square. A public walkway was also erected around the square connecting it to Aghmashenebeli Avenue. A new system of lighting was also installed.
