The President of Georgia opens new projects in Telavi

Mikheil Saakashvili visited newly rehabilitated city of Telavi on September15, where a public holiday was held. The President of Georgia opened a new public service hall and spoke to the employees there. Later Mikheil Saakashvili travelled to the freshly rehabilitated Nadikvari Park, and for its opening. The Head of State spoke to the audience about the ongoing rehabilitation projects and his future plans for the country. According to the president, the rehabilitation process is also getting underway in the areas of Dedoplistskaro, Lagodekhi, Gurjaani, and Kakheti, as well as many cities and regions throughout Georgia. Mikheil Saakashvili noted that like Batumi and Mestia, Telavi will also have a piazza which will be opened near the Intourist Hotel area.

“Look at this beauty around! The most important thing is for Telavians to benefit from all of this. This beauty is a prerequisite for the development of tourism, the strengthening of agriculture and the development of the education sphere…all of this creates prospects for every Telavian,” stated the Georgian president.

A market was also created in Telavi where Kakhetian products such as wine and local souvenirs will be sold.

The president also attended the wine pressing process at Erekle II Square. Those who were interested had a chance to participate in the wine pressing ceremony.
