Recently the issue of selling Georgian lands to foreigners has become a very hot topic. There is the opinion that the problem should be handled through legislation. There are multiple cases when Georgian lands are bought by Indian, Chinese, Iranian, Turkish, Arab and other nationalities. Georgia has a deficit of lands already. There are many mountainous areas in the country and this requires a serious state policy to protect the interests of the local population. The lands are needed for agricultural activities and as pasture for cattle. So the ill practice of selling Georgian lands for a very cheap price to foreigners should be regulated.
