Arturo Sandoval mesmerizes fans at Tbilisi Concert Hall

Famous jazz trumpeter, pianist and composer from Cuba, Arturo Sandoval, performed a concert on March 8 at Tbilisi Concert Hall, turning the evening into a triumph of music and art. The Georgian capital was the last destination of his European tour after Athens, Vienna, Munich, Bristol, London and Zagreb.

The nine-time Grammy winner presented his latest album to the audience. Sandoval played the trumpet and performed as a vocalist at the concert. He was accompanied by his band members: Zane Musa – saxophone, Mahesh Balasooriya – piano, John Belzaguy – bass, Alexis Arce – drums and Samuel Torres – percussion.

Sandoval also performed a composition on a new type of trumpet he received as a present in Tbilisi. The instrument is created by a Georgian fan. Sandoval explained that the instrument is unique, giving the musician the opportunity for improvisation.

Arturo Sandoval was very pleased with the audience. “I like you and you love music!” he addressed the people gathered at the Concert Hall.

The concert was planned to last for 2 hours. However, the Sandoval was called on by the audience to perform an additional piece during an encore. Sandoval continued his concert for 30 more minutes.
