Minister of Finance of Georgia, Nodar Khaduri, stated that the previous United National Movement (UNM) government had forced businesses to pay various taxes in advance. Therefore, the current state budget faces certain difficulties. Khaduri mentioned that the number of enterprises that had to pay different taxes in advance is over 350, 000. Khaduri also said that around 1.5 billion GEL had been paid by those enterprises to the state budget in advance and obviously it is a heavy burden for the Georgian economy which undermines the fulfillment of budgetary plans.

Summing up the results of the first quarter of 2013, Khaduri concluded that overall countries performance in collecting tax revenues is satisfactory and even better than in the previous year.
