Number of Russian tourists increases

Friday, July 19In the first half of 2013 approximately 260,000 Russian visitors entered Georgia. Some years ago Georgia abolished visa requirements for Russian citizens, on one condition: that Russian citizens entering Georgia should not have visited Georgia’s breakaway territories beforehand. However, the Georgian parliament wants to relax this restriction.
Generally Russians are easy-going tourists and the middle-aged and older generations still vividly remember excellent times spent in Georgia during the Soviet period. Thus Russian tourism in Georgia is expected to increase even more.
