EBRD president pleased with Georgia’s cooperation

Georgian Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri met with president of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Suma Chakrabarti on May 16.

The sides paid special attention to the holding of the EBRD annual meeting in Georgia.

The medium-term directions and an action plan of the bank for the next four years will be determined, according to the statement.

The annual meetings help host countries to improve the investment sphere and economic integration with the EBRD member-states.

"The EBRD successfully cooperates with Georgia," Chakrabarti added. "The EBRD investment volume will hit 250 million euros in 2014. After signing an association agreement with the EU, the investment volume will more increase."

"I am glad that we have chosen Georgia for holding the annual meeting in 2015," Chakrabarti said. "Holding a meeting in Tbilisi is a chance to inform the shareholders and investors of the bank with Georgia's progress."

Khaduri also met with manager of the Polish National Bank Marek Belka. The sides discussed the prospects for future cooperation. As the host country of the EBRD annual meeting, the Polish side shared its experience in organizing such high level meetings with Georgian colleagues.
