Producer Price Index for Industrial Products in Georgia-November 2014

In November 2014 the Producer Price Index (PPI) for Industrial Products decreased 0.8 percent compared to October 2014. The index increased 3.8 percent compared to November 2013 and 65.1 percent over the 2005 average.

The monthly PPI rate was mainly due to the price change for the following section:
Manufacturing prices decreased 0.7 percent and the section contributed -0.59 percentage points to the overall index change. The prices mainly decreased for the manufacture of chemical products (-7.1 percent) and the manufacture of food products, beverages and tobacco products (-1.0 percent);
Supply of electricity, gas and water: the prices decreased 0.9 percent with the contribution of -0.11 percentage points to the overall index. The price change for the following section contributed the most to the rise in the annual PPI:
Manufacturing: the prices increased 5.6 percent. Consequently, the section contributed 4.60 percentage points to the overall index percent change. In the reporting period the prices increased for manufacture of food products, beverages and tobacco products (9.9 percent) and manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products (5.9 percent);
Mining and quarrying prices decreased 13.5 percent contributing -0.66 percentage points to the overall index.
