General Electric to supply gas turbo compressors for TANAP

General Electric Oil & Gas company will implement first deliveries of gas turbo compressors for the TANAP pipeline in 2017, said the press release of the company posted on its website.

It is noted that the parties had entered into a multimillion-dollar contract, which includes the supply of systems crucial for the operation of the pipeline.

“The supply of gas turbines and a batch of turbo compressors with gas turbine drive is the case,” said the press release. “All products will be manufactured, assembled and tested in Florence for delivery to TANAP in 2017.”

The message also said that the implementation of the first phase of the TANAP project is scheduled for 2018.

President of GE Oil & Gas for the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey Rami Qasem expressed satisfaction with the company's participation in TANAP project and cooperation with such companies as SOCAR, BOTAS and BP, according to the message.

“This contract is a milestone for GE Oil & Gas and stresses our long-term commitment to projects in Turkey,” he said. “It is a part of investment projects worth $900 million started by us in the country in 2012.”

GE Oil & Gas company produces more than 50 percent of gas produced on the basis of energy in Turkey.
