Awarding of medals to 43rd Battalion Command in Afghanistan

Awarding ceremony was held at the Bagram Air Field in Afghanistan.
The senior commissioned and non-commissioned commanders of the 43rd Battalion of the IV Mechanized Brigade of the GAF LTC, Vitali Tskhadadze, and Sergeant Major Shalva Mtvarelishvili, were awarded with the Bronze Star Medal of the United States` Armed Forces for their contribution to the Resolute Support Mission. Around 30 military personnel of 4the 3rd Battalion were also awarded with the US Army's “Army Commendation Medal” for the successful fulfilment of their mission.
The Georgian military servicemen were granted the medals by the Command of Combined Tactical Group 3.
The 43rd Battalion of IV Mechanized Brigade was carrying out full spectrum operations at the Bagram Air Field with Coalition Forces for seven months. The 22nd Battalion of II Infantry Brigade of GAF will replace the 43rd Battalion under rotation.
