By Mariam Chanishvili Police seizes 4 packages of Heroin in Tbilisi

324.93 grams of heroin has been seized by Georgian police after arresting an Azerbaijani citizen on Monday.

He had divided heroin into 4 packages, stored inside his shoe heels.

The individual was arrested in Phonichala district in Tbilisi. If proved he will face 8-20 years of imprisonment.

An investigation was launched into the illegal purchase and possession of a large amount of drugs, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said on Tuesday.



Georgian Judokas Continue Protest to Fire the Federation President

Varlam Liparteliani, famous Georgian judoka and the captain of the national judo team, stated that judokas are continuing their protest against the President of the Federation Davit Kevkhishvili and demand his resignation.

As Liparteliani stated, judokas refuse to train until the resignation of the president.

"We continue to protest, we demand the resignation of the president of the judo federation and we are waiting for answers on our questions. We hope that relevant agencies - the Commission, the Ministry of Sport, the Sport Committee or anyone else will answer us,” Liparteliani said.

Recently, the Georgian team participated in the European Championship in Judo and was unable to win even one medal. Following this, Kevkhishvili changed the staff of coaches and appointed new ones.

The protests have been taking place for more than two weeks. The athletes claim \ Kevkhishvili cannot deal with the federation issues.
