Telavi International Music Festival

Telavi International Music Festival will take place in Georgia on October 4-13.

Festival opening will take place on October 4 at Telavi Vazha Pshavela State Drama Theatre and feature a piano recital by Boris Berezovsky.

Berezovsky studied at the Moscow Conservatory with Eliso Virsaladze and privately with Alexander Satz. Following his London debut at the Wigmore Hall in 1988, The Times described him as "an artist of exceptional promise, a player of dazzling virtuosity and formidable power."

The audience will also have a chance to listen to Eliso Virsaladze, Alexander Korsantia, as well as to young pianist, prize winner of international competitions - Daniel Petrica Ciobanu, Matvey Blumin, a fourteen-year-old violin prodigy, prize winners of international cello competitions, one of the most distinguished cellists of the young generation Alexander Ramm and Bruno Philippe, named Revelation Classique.

The festival orchestra is comprised of Tbilisi State Chamber Orchestra Georgian Sinfonietta as well as musicians from Tbilisi Opera and Ballet State Orchestra and musicians invited from abroad.

The festival offers a performance by Alexander Korsantia with the Festival Orchestra, conducted by Ariel Zuckermann on October 6.

Apart from Telavi Vazha Pshavela State Drama Theatre, Tsinandali Alexander Chavchavadze Museum is offered as another venue.

Within the frames of the festival special master classes for students of music schools and Conservatoire will take place.

Special bus service is provided for the audience within the frames of the concert (Tbilisi-Telavi-Tbilisi).

The Festival is conducted under the auspices of Classical Music Center and Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia.
