Demna Gvasalia became Accessories Designer of the Year at Fashion Awards 2018

The British Fashion Council brought together celebrities, models and fashion designers from at Royal Albert Hall in London for Fashion Awards 2018.

A total of 15 Winners of the Nomination were revealed at the Award ceremony.

Georgian designer Demna Gvasalia who is the creative director of Balenciaga and head designer of Vetements won the nomination of Accessories Designer of the Year at Fashion Awards 2018.

Demna Gvasalia collected the award for Accessories Designer of the Year, beating Gucci, Prada, Loewe and Dior.

Starting with a red carpet, the event honored many of the buzziest fashion names, including new Givenchy designer Clare Waight Keller.

The event was attended by Segrex Hercogen and Meghan Markle.

The British Fashion Council revealed the winners of the Fashion Awards on December 10.

The same day Gvasalia won the annual prize, Vetements — a design collective co-founded by him alongside CEO Guram Gvasalia in 2014 — unveiled its Spring/Summer 2019 collection in Paris.o

Demna Gvasalia is a Georgian fashion designer. He studied at Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. He led design teams at Maison Martin Margiela and Louis Vuitton. Currently, he is the creative director of Balenciaga and head designer of Vetements.

Demna’s brand Vetements revealed its collection themed on the contemporary history of Georgia.

He presented a collection named as “Family and War” during Paris Fashion Week in July 2018. Regime, wars, political events, religious attitudes and fighting for freedom from the past century to modern day were printed for the collection.
