Three former members of the Georgian Dream ruling party, Eka Beselia, Gedevan Popkhadze, and Zviad Kvachantiradze, who left the party earlier in 2019 due to the controversies regarding the lifetime appointment of judges, announced the creation of a new political party, with the name-For Justice.

The trio says that that the Georgian Dream party, which defeated the nine-year leadership of the United National Movement in 2012, has failed to restore justice.

The party assembly is scheduled to take place on June 20.

Beselia says that consultations on the membership with other politicians and political groups are in progress.

Beselia quit the post of head of Parliament’s Legal Issues Committee in December 2018, saying that the decision was related to "hasty and unacceptable" process of lifetime appointment of judges with “controversial past” to the Supreme Court of Georgia.
