Presentation of MICAM MILANO in Tbilisi

The presentation of an International Trade Fair of Footwear Industry - MICAM MILANO took place on July 11, Hotel “Rooms Hotels” Tbilisi.

Paolo Borghini, the director of MICAM made a presentation on the trade fair and shared opportunities to connect with the leading Footwear Trade Fair of the World.

It was mentioned during the event that the tendency of growth could be noted about the export of footwear from Italy to Georgia.

“MICAM has already celebrated its 50th anniversary. Held twice a year, it offers different collection exhibitions varying according to the season. MICAM footwear show saw 44,000-plus visitors, 60% from outside Italy last year,” said Paolo Borghini.

The event was organized by ITA-Italian Trade Agency, Italian Governmental Agency to support trade and commercial relations between Italy and the countries and popularize “Made in Italy” worldwide.

The event was attended by local importers, producers, and designers, representatives of the public and private sector.

Mariam Turnava, Deputy Head of the Export Department at ‘’Enterprise Georgia” offered co-financing to local footwear producers in case they decide to participate in the upcoming trade fair.

Participation is restricted to manufacturers, distributors, agents, and representatives of footwear and the total leather look.

MICAM MILANO, a landmark event for footwear industry professionals from all over the world is promoted by “Assocalzaturifici” Italian National Association of industrial shoemakers. The upcoming edition of MICAM MILANO will open on September 15 and will share with the world the latest trends and collections of Footwear fashion and industry until September 18.

The fair provides a chance to encounter leading brands for the World: FENDI, SALVATORE FERRAGAMO, GUCCI, PRADA, TOD’S, GIORGIO ARMANI, JIMMY CHOO, SERGIO ROSSI.

Given the attendance figures of 45.000 visits per edition, MICAM confirms its role as a showcase for promoting new collections. At the same time, it is also a decisive opportunity to do business and establish tangible commercial contacts.
