The public association "Movement for Cultural Heritage" has launched an information campaign - "New Life for Samshvilde".
The goal of the campaign is to better familiarize the general public with the history of the Samshvilde settlement, its current problems and tourism potential.
The campaign started on March 24 in the Samshvilde settlement. The invited guides - archaeologist Goderdzi Narimanashvili and the former head of the National Agency for Cultural Heritage Protection of Georgia Nikoloz Antidze - not only showed the participants of the media tour this largest settlement in Georgia, but also provided comprehensive information about the important archaeological discoveries made in the territory in recent years. The guests of the settlement also got acquainted with the work plan created by the National Agency for Cultural Heritage Protection of Georgia several years ago, which envisages the transformation of the Samshvilde settlement into a powerful tourist center.
Nino Burchuladze, Head of the "Movement for Cultural Heritage": "With our campaign, which includes various activities, we will try to focus not only the public but also the government's attention on the problems of Samshvilde. Today we have once again seen the difficult condition of individual parts of the settlement, so it is time to act. Once again, we appeal to the Ministries of Culture and Infrastructure to begin discussions on the implementation of large-scale works in the Samshvilde settlement in order to exploit the tourist potential of the monument."
