Kobakhidze Begins Working Visit to Singapore to Discuss Investment and Cooperation

Georgian Dream Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has departed for Singapore on a working visit, where he is expected to hold meetings with the country's top officials and discuss political and economic cooperation.
According to the Georgian government administration, Kobakhidze will meet with Singaporean President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, and Speaker of the Singaporean Parliament Seah Kian Peng.
Kobakhidze is also scheduled to meet with financial technology companies, with discussions expected to focus on Georgia's investment opportunities.
Kobakhidze is visiting Singapore with a government delegation that includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili, Economy and Sustainable Development Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili, and Head of the Government Administration Levan Zhorzholiani.
Speaking to journalists ahead of the visit, Botchorishvili said the meetings with Singapore's leaders would provide an opportunity to strengthen both political and economic ties between the two countries.
She highlighted Singapore's experience in economic development, reforms, and logistics, saying Georgia could benefit from cooperation with the Southeast Asian country.
"Singapore is a country that has a lot in common with Georgia, starting with economic development and ending with the experience of a logistics center," Botchorishvili said.
The foreign minister also pointed to potential cooperation in business, finance, and logistics, saying that closer relations with Singapore could help Georgia make better use of regional economic opportunities.
"High-level meetings will help us to further develop our relations," Botchorishvili said, adding that the partnership between Georgia and Singapore could be expanded in several areas, including financial and economic cooperation.
