Kobakhidze to Address UN General Assembly, Hold Bilateral Meetings in New York

Georgian Dream Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze will take part in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, the Administration of the Government of Georgia announced, with the Prime Minister set to address the General Debate on September 24.
The government said Kobakhidze's New York visit will also include participation in the "Multilateral Partnership" Summit and a high-level panel on peace organized by Finland, along with a series of bilateral meetings with foreign leaders and UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
Kobakhidze traveled to New York with a delegation that includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili and Head of the Government Administration Levan Zhorzholiani, according to the statement.
Botchorishvili told journalists the delegation would take part in the session under Kobakhidze's leadership, attending various events and holding bilateral talks with representatives of other countries and international organizations throughout the week.
"There will be a number of events in which members of the Georgian delegation, including the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister, will have the opportunity to participate at various levels, convey, of course, Georgia's most important messages on the international stage, and also hold bilateral meetings with representatives of different countries and international organizations," she said, adding that the assembly offers a rare chance to engage directly with world leaders in one place.
"This is the best place and opportunity, where world leaders gather, and our delegation will also have the opportunity to meet with its counterparts and discuss various issues," Botchorishvili said.
